Why I Chose "Stay Together For The Kids"
Stay Together For The Kids is a song by the band Blink-182 from the album Take Off Your Pants & Jacket. This song is about divorce and how it affects the kids. 46% percent of families are divorced in Australia making it the 7th largest. Divorce can seriously affect the kids sometimes making them depressed and can even result in suicide. It's a very serious social issue as it affects just under 50% of families in Australia and nearly every third marriage ends in divorce.

Stay Together For The Kids: Blink 182
It's hard to wake up
When the shades have been pulled shut
This house is haunted
It's so pathetic
It makes no sense at all.
I'm ripe with things to say
The words rot and fall away.
If a stupid poem could fix this home
I'd read it every day.
So here's your holiday
Hope you enjoy it this time
You gave it all away
It was mine
So when you're dead and gone
Will you remember this night, twenty years now lost.
It's not right
Their anger hurts my ears
Been running strong for seven years
Rather than fix the problems, they never solve them
It makes no sense at all
I see them every day
We get along so why can't they?
If this is what he wants and this is what
she wants
Then why is there so much pain?
So here's your holiday
Hope you enjoy it this time
You gave it all away
It was mine
So when you're dead and gone
Will you remember this night, twenty years now lost
It's not right
So here's your holiday
Hope you enjoy it this time
You gave it all away
It was mine
So when you're dead and gone
Will you remember this night, twenty years now lost
It's not right x4

Social Issues
A social issue is anything that affects one person or a group of people. Social issues can usually be debated. Some social issues are things like young teens getting nose jobs, boob jobs etc, people wanting to demolish a historic site/building and things like that. One social issue that I found interesting was the one on teens having cosmetic surgery to enhance their looks. The amount of teens undergoing cosmetic surgery was very large and surprising. In Queensland they have banned teens from undergoing cosmetic surgery completely but NSW have put a 3 month "cooling off" time for the teen to think about if its really worth having surgery. I believe in NSW decision for the "cooling off" period but i think it should be 6 months instead of 3 to give the teen more chance to think of the consequences. The teen should also go see a counselor to go discuss what those consequences are, not necessarily trying to talk them out of it, but to give them advice and find out what the reasons are for that individual. Some of the reasons could be because the teen is being bullied at school because of their looks, or they simply want to just enhance some of their features. I also believe that their should be an age limit of 16 to be able to have cosmetic surgery. Otherwise we could have teens at the age of 13 getting things like boob jobs or nose jobs while still only just starting to have their body mature.
